Happy New Year! 2012! I cannot believe how fast time if getting away from me. Last year I wrote 84 blog posts after I had decided mid-year that I was going to start blogging more. I guess that was huge improvement over my 7 blog posts in 2010. I am hoping for more posts this year but I may have a lull when my baby boy arrives in April and I will be a mother of 2! Toddler and a newborn - a whole other ball of wax I am anticipating.
January is going to be busy month for us, we are wrapping up our holiday week in the Adirondacks and soon it will be back to the real world in CT. Our renovation is just about complete and now we have to shift the house around. December was a huge setback for us and we didn't get much done due to the holidays, plus Guy was ridiculously busy so he had little time to focus on the house.
Hopefully he will be able to get the office completely moved to the new space and then the rest of the house can begin get back in order. We decided to put the baby in Mia's room and move her to our old bedroom which is full of toys, couches and a tv currently. Once Guy moves his office I am hoping to get all that stuff moved into the lower level then get Mia's new room painted and assembled complete with a big girl bed!
We decided against a toddler bed and are getting her into a twin bed. I have no idea how this is going to work out but I am hoping it will be a smooth transition. Then I have to address the nursery and make the switch from girl colors to boy colors, pick out a dresser and settle on curtains etc.
I also have to get preschool visits lined up so we can make a decision and get signed up for Mia come September. I have mixed emotions about her going to preschool, at that point she will be almost 3 (sigh) and I know she will absolutely love and thrive in preschool. I think it will be harder for me, Mia has never been in daycare and has only stayed with family members so the thought of me dropping her off somewhere and leaving totally freaks me out. There will definitely be a lot of tears on my part.
All in all I know that 2012 will breeze by in the blink of an eye becuase we have so much to look forward too and before you know it I will be sitting here in January of 2013 bragging about my darling little girl and handsome baby boy.
