Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since we began the renovation...and no I still don't have a shower - UGHHHHH! Whoever said patience is a virtue - never remodeled thier bathroom! So I am still imposing on my sister for her shower. BUT on a happy and exciting note - the tub is all tiled! So maybe there is a working shower in my near future? By this weekend? One can only hope. That's all that's up with me - just fighting the construction dust/dirt and counting the days until the bathroom is done!

He goes freaking nuts!!...My father not Bob Hope.
Currently renovation is still on going at my house with regards to my new bathroom and I am so ready for it to be done. I seriously forgot how much renovation dust sucks - especially if you have plaster walls, YUCK! So currently the bathroom is still gutted - the new window is in place, the new plumbing has been put in and the tub has been set. Today the electrician are there doing all the new lighting/wiring etc. Once that is done I think things will move along quicker. Next up is the sheetrock and tiling. I know good things come to those who wait and I am trying to be patient, but I can't wait to have a shower in my own house - right now Guy and I are imposing on my poor sister everyday. I will post some pics this week of the progress of my fabulous bathroom-to-be.

With so much drama in the l-b-c. It's kinda hard being snoop d-o-double-g...

Oh my dog Lucky - I love my dog like crazy! For those of you who know me my dog is my life. I am super crazy about my dog and he is my child, since I don't have any children of my own yet. He is the best little dog on the planet, he is very smart, very sweet and very loving. He follows me all over the place, he snuggles with me whenever he gets a chance. He is awesome.
I know its bad to be so attached to an animal but I can't help it, the damage is done, I am too much in love with my pup. He is SUPER SPOILED! This is also why I have decided that I will never have another dog - I can never be this attached to an animal again! (What am I going to be like when I have kids????)
So yesterday we had a little incident on our walk (by the way LaLa I am not taking anymore evening walks - strictly mornings and afternoons). We were 1 house away from my yard when a large boxer being walked by an incompetent child comes barreling toward us from the opposite direction. Well of course it went right for Lucky's head growling and pouncing before I even had a chance to scoop my little guy up! Mind you Lucky is 13 lbs, so he is small. Well then I am screaming and trying to get to Lucky, my sister is freaking out too, basically I am flailing my arms in between the dogs trying to get to Lucky (who is yelping) and push this other dog back and of course this other stupid f-in dog won't back off and the idiot holding the lease and her mother are not trying to pull it away. Lala is also trying to get in there and help get the other dog away by kicking at it...so then Lucky wiggles out of his leash and collar which is really bad because I live on a busy street and now I am worried about him darting into the road to get away. So at this point I basically just go for the scoop and get between the dogs and fall down onto the other dog and rescue my little baby. Thankfully he was not hurt, just scared and slobbered on. Well the other people we're like is he okay and I said, "Barely!" - then the mother proceeded to yell the kid for not holding the dog. Hello its a meaty boxer being held by a wimpy 10 year old kid.
So to end this little tale - my dog is fine - he just needed to get a little washing, LaLa and I were more upset I think - can you say mini-heart attack? I am seriously so over-protective of my dog I would have killed that dog. I know you are not supposed to get between 2 dogs fighting by forget that - my adrenaline and protective mother-vibe kicked in and there was no way I was letting my Lucky get hurt.
And today I feel worse because I had to drop him off at the vet for his teeth cleaning - which requires anesthesia, so I couldn't even give him any breakfast or water this morning. All in all Lucky is having a crummy week. Maybe I will get him some McD's fries later to cheer him up.
And to all you big dog owners - hold those leashes tight - little dogs are fragile and they tend to have very protective mothers!

They're always after me lucky charms...It's a television commercial!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Hope you are all out there drinking green beer etc. So I am very sad to report that after being in Old Forge this weekend it is very clear that Snowmobile season is over. The trail conditions were poor, the roads are bare and dry and it was about 50 degrees when we were there. We did not ride this weekend, just bar hopped and hung out with some local friends. The snow is rapidly melting - I can even see some of my lawn! I took Lucky for a nice walk on Saturday it was very peaceful. I really do enjoy the country life!
Now that the snowmobile bug is gone - I am very anxious for Spring/Summer. More summer really - can we open the pool yet?!?
Well I have super busy week this week - we are starting the bathroom renovation! Everything is being delivered today, the dumpster came this morning and Jason comes tomorrow to start gutting the old bathroom. I hope this goes smooth and quickly because I won't have a shower after tomorrow and I will need to use my sister's house until the new tub/tile/fixtures are installed. So today I have to clean out the bathroom and get prepped. Tomorrow I have continuing education for my real estate license and then I am working Thursday and Friday. This week is going to fly!
I will keep you all posted on my renovations - luckily its not a big one like my kitchen - which I barley made it through!

I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower.
Greetings from work - I am trying to keep myself distracted at work and figured I would write quick blog entry. So here is the sitaution, the bathroom at work is broken and we cannot use the water. And of course I have to use the bathroom so bad! Why oh why did I drink so much water....
To make matters worse the plumbers are doing all kinds of crazy drilling, which is vibrating the entire office and making the urge to go worse. Ughhhhh this is so bad. I seriously think I am going to drive over to my old office around the corner and use the facilities. Would the be crazy? No it wouldn't. So I am ending the blog.

Come Monday it'll be alright...
Rainy Monday morning - yuck! But I must say that the weekend weather was really nice - a tiny taste of spring. I took Lucky for a walk both days, Guy and I finally took the xmas lights off the front bushes and Guy put up our new mailbox. So we definitely took advantage of the good weather. Now I am kind of anxious for spring/summer. Not looking forward to the allergies though! Which reminds me I must start taking my daily dose of local honey. If any of you have really bad spring allergies; buy some local honey and have a teaspoon every day. It will seriously help with the allergies. Since the honey comes from bees that pollinated local flowers it helps you build up some pollen immunity. I know, I am full of useless knowledge.
Well I am off to pay my bills, then I have to go out and get Guy some new socks. Exciting!

I'd have to study it but I'd say you have a great case against Bob Hope...
I am happy to report that the knee injury is not serious and is really just a bad bruise and some swelling. Over the last few days I have become more mobile - the only thing I can't do is kneel on my knee and I accidentally bumped it yesterday - OUCH! Which was followed by 5 minutes of me swearing like a sailor!
I am kind of disappointed in the March Old Forge weather - it does not look promising for the rest of the season. Which is a total bummer because Guy and I were looking forward to at least 1 more good trip.
Not much else going on with me - I am already getting into my late winter/early spring boredom. I wish we could go from Snowmobile season to Pool season - and skip the whole spring chill, April showers BS. Plus I would love to to avoid the whole pollen situation.
Well just a quick one today I have to go get ready to go to the dentist and then I am going to work for a few hours.
Think Snow in OF! xoxo - Mellycup.

Falling in love is so hard on the knees...
So much for being less clumsy at 30. I continued by 30th B-day celebration in Old Forge over the weekend - which was fun despite the weather not being in our favor for the most part. An inch of rain can really kill your snowmobile conditions.
Well I fell twice on Saturday and neither were alcohol induced! I slipped in the morning in the garage on some oil that spilled on the floor. I know its pretty ironic, you never think people really slip and fall in oil puddles. The damage to myself was minimal, I did bang my bad knee, but I was fine. It was one of those laughing falls that I mentioned in a previously blog. Quite amusing. The 2nd fall not so much. We were out riding and we stopped to get a bite and drink at the Red Dog and on my way in I hit a patch of ice and went down. So I am laying on the ground writhing in pain and Guy is standing next to me yelling at me for falling. Yes I am crying, and here is my friend John is standing over me goofing off...hello could someone check and see if I am ok!? (Todd has this on film, epic drama). Well I manage to get up and get inside but now I am hurt. I fell on the same knee again but this time much harder. Vodka was a perfect remedy to help ease the pain.
Currently my knee is still swollen and bruised. I am not walking very well on it and I am just hoping its a bad bump/bruise and it will clear up. I am little nervous b/c exactly 15 years ago to the weekend I fell on the same knee while away, tore my acl and came home to a winter storm, then I ended up on crutches for 6 months. I hope its not a deja vu moment. Will keep you posted on the bum knee. At least I don't have to shovel snow today.
